Funeral and Memorial Services
We are able to perform memorial and funeral services at the temple at normal capacity. We highly recommend continuing to wear masks when attending a service, event or class at the temple.
Sunday Services
Our Sunday services are being held in person and also broadcast on our Facebook page each Sunday. You can find these videos of our services on our facebook page so you can watch and chant along Sundays at 10am Hawaiian Standard Time. You do not need to be logged into Facebook or have an account to watch! We also have regular Buddhism study classes in Japanese and English over ZOOM teleconferencing, please contact us to get a link.
Temple Operation
Higashi Hongwanji's ministers will still be availible to contact by phone or email.
The temple columbarium will be open everyday 6:30am-5pm as normal. For security, the door is closed during operating hours and is open-able with a passcode. Please contact the temple office or email for the access code.
Temple/Otani Hall Events
We have in-person classes and online events running at our Otani Center, please contact us if you are interested in renting our hall for activity classes during the week. We have resumed our Karaoke Night and Movie Night in-person events. Please check the Newsletter calendar and facebook for any updates regarding our in-person events.
