Online and in-person Sunday Services 
Our Sunday services are open for in-person attendance, mask wearing is optional. Please stay home if you are not feeling well. We will continue to broadcast our services so please watch our Sunday Services at 10am Hawaiian time on our Facebook page here
 
The Higashi Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii was established in Honolulu in 1916, with the currrent temple being built at the Alaneo street location in 1983. The temple is a gathering place to listen to the Buddhist teachings, and hosts many community classes and events throughout the week. 
 
 
Learn: 
HHMH hosts study groups led by Rinban Kawawata throughout the month, including Basic Buddhism in Japanese, and studying the Larger and Meditation Sutra in English. 
 
Listen:
We have Sunday morning services every week, starting at 10am. We also have morning chanting evey day at 7am, (excepting Sundays and the 28th day of each month). These are open to the public and are an opportunity to see and experience a Japanese Buddhist service.
